  4. couchsurfing:

We are now hosting a guy, who is doing his RTW trip strictly on the ground and water, no flights. He wants to stay in the northern latitudes, like between 40 and 70. Last week he spent few days in Karelia (a beautiful area in the north of the European part of Russia, dense forests and lakes). It was -25 there, he slept in his sleeping bag on a pad on snow, without any tent. He wants to visit Norilsk - an industrial town in the north of Siberia, one of the most polluted towns in the world (too bad he most probably won’t be able to, since foreigners need a special permit to get there).

Now. He’s completely blind and travels with his service dog, who is an absolutely wonderful creature too.

I would love to host a surfer like this. Or at least meet him and take him for dinner and conversation.
